Welcome to the world Baby William. I love it when my close friends have babies so I can photograph them. He is so sweet and innocent and such a good sleeper. I love all of his newborn wrinkles. He's so teeny tiny. Baby William was 1.5 weeks old when I took these pictures. He looks like a little prince in these pictures. What you don't know is that he has 3 older sisters. He will be so loved and dressed in LOTS of pink in the years to come... Congrats Clair and David. enjoy.

It's been awhile since I have posted on the blog. Life has been keeping us very busy around here. Only a few more weeks until the kids start back at school which seems crazy! This summer has flown by and hasn't really seemed like summer due to the odd weather we have been having. On the positive side, my flowers look gorgeous instead of all dead/dried out..

I had a great shoot with Miss Jessica. She is such a natural and has the most beautiful eyes. We went to several places and were blessed that the rain held off. Shew. I broke out the 50mm 1.4 again. Oh how I've missed that lense! And how much lighter my camera felt! Thanks Jessica - enjoy!

What a fun shoot with the Nesbitt Family (Now Galle and Hacker Families) in Indiana. We went to their grandparents farm and it was spectacular... It was blazing hot that day but the country winds kept us nice and cool. I adore these pictures and I love the connections between them. The boys personalities were so fun to capture. enjoy!

The beautiful Talia was so photogenic. I am loving these pictures so much. We went to one of my new favorite locations to find that they are tearing it down!!!! I'm not having much luck with my locations lately! We did manage to utilize lots of colorful 4x4's as a prop! I just love the sparkle in her eyes. The lighting was beautiful that night. Tim is a true athlete and we had fun doing his sr rep photoshoot. We found some new graphitti at my favorite sr location. We had lots of laughs figuring out some cool "athletic" poses. What a fun shoot with Auni, my rep from New Albany High School. I took her to a few new locations that I'm really loving. I also got to use my 2 new antique furniture props. We did manage to get some honks and whistles from drivers as we were shooting in the field. I don't think anyone had ever seen someone put a couch in the middle of a field. ha! Loving the way these pictures turned out. Auni is gorgeous and did an awesome job as we were running from location to location. I have so many favorites! Thanks again Auni. Enjoy!

Baby Charlie

Oh how I love newborns. They are so fragile, cuddly, soft, innocent, SLEEPY - did I say SLEEPY? I'm just one of those people that LOVE newborns. I think I could have an army of babies if they stayed little forever. There's nothing more beautiful than a mother and a newborn. That feeling of bringing a life safely into the world. I held my babies for hours, HOURS! I never cared if anyone told me I would spoil them because they were mine to love and mine to spoil! ha..
I love their peacefulness and tinyness. How quickly they grow and how important it is to cherish and remember how tiny they started. I took these as a gift for my good friend Liz. Baby Charlie was 7 days old when I took these pictures.
I tried a few new props for these photos. I LOVE my new circular basket and my BEAUTIFUL new cacoon that my good friend Liz Bloebaum made for me. It is the softest most yummy yarn. I LOVE it and can't wait to use it again soon.
Next time I'm going to get Mommy, Daddy, and sisters in some pics! Thanks Magee Family and congrats on your baby boy!

Trendy Urban Location

I am in LOVE with these pictures... I found an awesome abandoned location. Jaimie and Sarah were awesome to model for me at the last minute in 20degree weather back in March! It was sooooo COLD. We were running back to my truck to get warm! Even though it was freezing, I couldn't be happier with the results.
I was working on some new things for my class. I called our sitter, Taylor, and she hooked me up with some of her friends. I was so excited when they showed up at the shoot because 1. Sarah and Jaimie are both GORGEOUS 2. She was dressed so trendy and the colors looked great with the settings and 3. They are so darn cute together!

Thanks Jaimie and Sarah for being so awesome. I had a great time and I LOVE these pictures! You two are the cutest couple and you can't even tell how cold it was! love it in black and white too!

Wow, I've really been neglecting my blog! BUT, there are reasons... 1. I've been taking a class for the last 3 months with the lovely Miss Wendy. 2. I am revamping my website. 3. Having 3 kiddos under 6 means there's never a dull moment in the Martin home and 4. We just went on vacation.
I am SUPER excited about the up and coming sessions and my new website. I've been learning so much and growing as a photographer which is very exciting. I can't wait to share with you all. I will be posting things more regularly now that I am getting into the shooting season... Thanks again for your patience.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! I am so thankful for my wonderful family and my amazing friends. I love you all so much!

I just want to bottle up every Christmas to remember forever. I always cherish these moments I have with my children during this magical season of christmas. Viewing christmas through the eyes of our children makes me realize how simple and enjoyable life really is. I also remember when I was a little girl and how wonderful believing really is and how important it is to have faith. Thinking about my little angels growing up makes my eyes teary. I know that there are many wonderful years ahead, but the thought of a time when they are older (and wiser) makes my heart ache. Right now I want to enjoy the pitter patter I hear when my children wake, the gasps of pure excitement, the squeals of joy, the "mommy/daddy, look what I got, and the sweet hugs and kisses throughout our days together.

I am so thankful for our three little blessings. I feel so blessed to be able to spend so much time with them every day! I love you my sweet angels. Thank you God for giving me such a beautiful life full of love....

A lovely warm November day... Lots of fun pictures from an awesome shoot. I had so much fun with the Drath family and I've been so anxious to edit the pictures. There are so many great shots, it was hard to pick just a few for the blog. Here are some of my favorites.

My VERY very favorite picture from the shoot. I can only hope that I have this kind of relationship with my own daughters when they are teenagers! There are so many pictures that show how much they adore each other.

I always enjoy taking photos of this family. These were taken for the new Bexley Boutique called CHARM. It is such a lovely little boutique that Lisa has created right here in Bexley. The clothing is too die for! They have a great assortment of high end brands as well as fun gifts and accessories. The crock styles are so fun with unique prints and my favorite room includes the tutu's, crowns, and wands. Check it out if you happen to be in Bexley. It is located on Drexel Ave right across from Greaters.
We couldn't resist getting one with the family dog Chili! I just love that name!

I thought I would share a few pictures of my family from our vacation. The family picture was taken by my brother, Chad. My son, Drew, absolutely hates sitting still for ANY type of picture so he looks a bit like a deer in headlights, but this is the best that we got! I am nearly in tears because I don't have ANY good pictures of my son after taking pictures EVERY day! ugh! He is so busy and FAST. I can't ever get him to look at me either. It's so frustrating! He won't sit with my daughter for one second for me to take their picture together so it was amazing to get these few shots that I did. Of course the light was nearly gone by the time he was playing with her. I hope to get some pictures when the new baby arrives, wish me luck! enjoy.

The Lovely Miss Wendy's One on One

Hello again! I've been lacking in posting due to working on my photography through workshops and one on ones. I've been sifting through images and trying to practice lots. I recently spent the weekend in AZ where I took a one on one class to improve my photography skills with Miss Wendy Schulz. She is amazing and truely one gifted and talented woman! We had so much fun and the information and knowledge that I recieved was amazing and so inspiring! Thank goodness she was on board to deal with my pregnancy potty breaks, and just the chore of getting up and down. It was great to have her critique my shooting and help me enhance my shots with correct lighting/focus, etc. We had such fun in a field at sunset playing with backlight and then light as the sun sets behind the mountains. I have several images from my day with Wendy, but these are a few of my favorites. Thanks for everything Wendy! you were a fab model to practice on.... K

Audrey Woulard's Weekend Workshop in Chicago

Words cannot express how inspired I am! I just want to get out and shoot... I attended a fabulous workshop in Chicago last weekend with the famous, Audrey Woulard. Audrey is known for her work with children and babies as well as Pottery Barn Kids. She is amazing all around. A wonderful person with a spirit like no other. She is a woman we can all aspire too, as a mother and a professional business woman. I didn't know what to expect when I signed up for the workshop and I was completely blown away by her experience as well as how approachable and laid back she is. I just can't put exactly how I feel into words. I was so excited to see her studio. It has the most amazing light I've ever seen. The catchlights in everyone's eyes were amazing! flawless and NATURAL! So, as soon as I wake up Monday morning, I contact my realtor and start looking for a space! ha! Seriously, I would love to have a space to shoot during the blah blah months in ohio and somewhere to escape too. The light in her studio made me want a studio so badly! Oh and of course the opportunity to decorate it! We'll see what's in store..... Maybe sometime down the road. I also came home wanting a new camera, a new lense (well a few), etc. I don't think the hubby was expecting me to be all gung ho when I returned!

Two Preggers in a pod....

Hello everyone!
I just returned from a wonderful weekend trip to Chicago where I attended a workshop given by the Movie star of portraiture, Audrey Woulard. My gal pal, Andrea, who now lives in WI, also attended the workshop. We were able to go to a lovely dinner on friday night, where we ate, chit chatted, laughed, and ate some more sans kids. It was a great escape from mommyhood although we weren't able to totally escape and have a few drinks since we are both pregnant. Before we knew it, we had been there for 4 hours!

Here's a snapshot of the two of us in Audreys studio before we had to say goodbye - boohoo. I had to crop out the bellies, my belly didn't look very flattering while sitting. This photograph was taken by Kristyn McBride, a photographer located in AZ.

What a great shoot with Zeek, even in January. The weather was gorgeous and 50 degrees! We could not have picked a better day. He did such a great job, I think he might have been a model previously... Thanks for the fun day Zeek!

What a fun shoot with the Flora family. You can feel the love.... We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. Several of me falling in the leaves. I wore the wrong shoes.. Thanks Flora family for another great shoot.

What a fun shoot with the Cooke family last weekend! It started off with 2 boys in tears, but soon ended in smiles and great pics.
